Yes, we are the crazy people selling out house during a pandemic and planning to move to Texas in the summer! Clearly that wasn't the goal when we first started this process. Originally, we were planning to move in 2022. It just started to slowly move up. With the pandemic we had gotten ourselves to really thinking about October of 2020. The thought being that we could escape winter.

Once I quit my job it seemed to make sense to consider an earlier move. We went to San Antonio in early June, and it just felt right. One thing led to another, and our house was on the market a week after we returned. What a process! At first, we thought that we'd get an offer right away. I'm not too sure why we were thinking that given that the average (outside a pandemic) in our neighborhood is three months. Slowly we started to wrap our heads around the new time frame. It fit well with the Texas summer heat and the recent spike in cases in Texas.

Just as we accepted the slower pace, we got our first offer. It came in low. We proposed a counter. It is hard to know just what to do. We could hold out and take more time. However, that means keeping the house 'show ready' and continually subjecting Stray to more trauma. [Stray is our cat of 15 years! He is about 18]. We'll just have to wait and see what the counter produces. We are glad to have an offer and to get the process moving.
