Community as Wellness

This morning I find myself thinking of community. We recently moved to a retirement community. I am still getting used to living here; both at Hill Country Retreat and in Texas. The pandemic, with social distancing, has certainly added a twist. I find myself at home and away from people more than I imagined when we first decided to move. It is a balancing act, to be sure, of being safe at home and exploring the area while navigating people and masks.
My first San Antonio Startup Week (https://sasw.co/) session - Coffee + Cultura- fit right into my community as wellness feeling. . Here is the description from the website:
"San Antonio is known for its culture. From the World Heritage recognized historic Missions, to the mariachis that traverse the riverwalk bringing a special vibe to our already vibrant downtown, to our food universally accepted as the king of Tex Mex. In recent years, San Antonio has been adding another level of culture to our already stellar culinary community - coffee. Creating both culturally relevant drinks as well as cultural delights, Coffee Shop Owners Tyler Ybarra (Cafe Azteca) and Tatu Herrera (Folklores Coffee) have created little havens for coffee on the southside." I can't wait to go to the coffee shop! It sounds absolutely amazing.

I finally had an opportunity to try the coffee and it was amazing!! I highly recommend Traditional Mexican Coffee (Café de Olla). The orange taste was unexpected and wonderful.
